Eingedi, being located close to Lesotho which is known as the Mountain Kingdom, has an interesting variety of birds. The Freestate has close to 470 species. At least 200 of these can be identified on our 530Ha game farm. The terrain on Eingedi varies from plains to sandstone hills and outcrops. See ‘Location Map‘; ‘Greater Eingedi Map‘
The specialties include large and small species:
Blue and Northern Black Korhaan, Secretarybird, Red-throated Wryneck, African Grassowl, African Spoonbill, Cape Clapper Lark, Mocking Cliff Chat, Pale Chanting Goshawk, Bokmakierie.
We have an updated bird list available with Sabap2 number classification. You are welcome to download and print it before arrival. We can also supply you with the same list, if you have no printing facilities available.
