Braai Bliss at Eingedi
Indulge in the perfect ambiance for gatherings and day visits at our large sandstone fire-pit and thatched boma with a fireplace, available for hire. Embrace the delightful aroma of a braai as wood fires roar under the stars, creating a memorable experience.
Most South Africans enjoy a good ‘ol braai. Here on Eingedi, we do too, hence we have made ample provision for all of us. You can see the layout of our infrastructure with braai areas on the ‘Eingedi Valley Map’.
· The campsite and each chalet has their own portable and/or fixed braai facility, as well as an outdoor dining area.
· The under-cover boma with fireplace, electric lights and plugs, tables and chairs, as well as an open fire-pit, can be hired for larger groups who are booked into more than 1 chalet. (See ‘Cost’)
· The boma facility is also available for hire by day visitors. (See ‘Day Visitors’)
· Wood can be purchased by the wheelbarrow load. (see ‘Cost’)
· Our home-made wors and patties are available for purchase, when we have enough stock. Please ask at reception.
Safety: Fire & Smoke
Eingedi Retreat provides a natural and rustic setting, with thatched roofs and wooden cottages.
Being located in the vast Free State veld, fire is a real threat to this environment.
Please practice extreme caution with fires, cooking and candles.
Do not discard any burning or smoldering items.
Fires to be lit in designated areas only.
Never leave a fire unattended once it has been lit.
All fires must be extinguished after they have served their purpose.
